Twenty-five years after its original theatrical release, the film about The Sex Pistols, ‘The Great Rock’n’roll Swindle’, is to be made available to own on DVD.
The movie is a dramatised look at the history of the notorious punk band fronted by Johnny Rotten, and includes an appearance by Ronnie Biggs. Special features on the disc include interviews with the band, 5.1 surround sound, and commentaries from director Julien Temple and journalist Chris Salewicz. It will be released on May 30.
Over seventeen live performances also feature in the film, including renditions of ‘God Save The Queen’, ‘Pretty Vacant’, and ‘Anarchy In The UK’. They were recorded at the Pistols’ final gig in San Francisco. The VHS release of the movie has long been out of print.
