Jailed rapper C-Murder is to change his name just in case he is “misunderstood”.
Currently serving time after being convicted of murdering Steve Thomas, 16, in 2002, C-Murder (real name Corey Miller) will now go by the stage name C-Miller, reports Yahoo.
C-Miller originally intended his stage name of C-Murder to be reflection on the dodgy and violent housing estate he was brought up on in New Orleans. In a statement C-Miller said:
"From the beginning, I have been a target because of who I am, my stage name and for my success as an entertainer and the success of my siblings. People hear the name C-Murder and they don't realize that the name simply means that I have seen many murders in my native Calliope projects neighbourhood."
C-Miller is currently facing a mandatory life sentence.
