The music industry is in shock as Pam Bricker, singer from chill-out pioneers the Thievery Corporation has taken her own life.
A message on the band's website announced the tragic news.
"On Sunday, February 20th we lost our long time friend and collaborator Pam Bricker. Pam has been a Thievery Corporation mainstay, (both on tour and in the studio) contributing vocals on the first three Thievery Corporation albums, most notably on the epic Thievery track "Lebanese Blonde." Her class, easy-going nature, professionalism, and her distinct, beautiful voice will be eternally missed. Music fans from DC to Istanbul and everywhere in between mourn her loss, and we mourn with you. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Pam's name to Heifer International (www.heifer.org), an organization that she supported".
Thievery Corporation was created by producers Rob Garza and Eric Hilton. Pam appeared on the two Thievery Corporation albums 'Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi' (1997) and 'Richest Man In Babylon' (2002).
She also released solo albums: 'Looking Good' (1996) and 'U-Topia' (2000).
