Israel has invited the remaining members of The Beatles to visit their country, a massive 43 years after banning them.
The Middle Eastern nation banned the fab four from performing in the country back in 1965 over fears that their music would corrupt the youth.
Now, the Israeli ambassador to London, Ron Prosor, is calling on Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr to visit the country this May as part of its 60th anniversary celebrations.
Mr Prosor is currently in Liverpool after marking Holocaust Memorial Day there and is due to meet up with John Lennon’s sister Julia Baird to hand her an official letter of apology over the ban.
He is also handing the invitation to the director of the Beatles Story museum Jerry Goldman, who tells the BBC: "I've got close ties to Israel, so I'm thrilled. It would be fantastic if they did visit."
