Wu-Tang Clan rapper Raekwon has accused Jay-Z and Kanye West of lacking ‘street cred’, despite their huge popularity.
Raekwon said that as a result both rappers were failing to inspire possible future generations of performers.
"A lot of street people don't put stock in them anymore because they aren't doing enough to excite anyone," he said.
In an interview with the New York Daily News, he added that both West and Jay-Z should "come back to the hood and drop $100,000" in order to restore their credibility.
Asked if he would consider doing the same, Raekwon said that he didn’t have the money to, and that if he did, he wouldn’t “know where to drop it.”

- jigga was hot wen was street, now i have no time 4 him, he is a house-hold name, meaning he lacks excitement. I would’nt listen to Kanye with my grandads ears! He’s not a rapper he is a pop musician who saw an opening n dived in earning a lot of money. Wen i see a new kanye or jay album i wd not buy it, wen i Raekwon drops i scoop it up. Wu-Tang lives on baby, they are the voice of wise hip-hop.

- I dislike jays new look, i liked him better when he first started out, and ive always HATED kanye west, and to tell the truth, Raekwon is right, and so is big singh, when bad singh said ”All rappers are at thier best when thier hungry” i mean, look at 50 cent...even though his last album was good, and better than his second album, his 1st album was more street than the others. jay fell off. kanye is NOT gangsta, and is as black as Carlton from fresh prince of bel-air...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
- listen muppets its not about ”street cred” its about talent somthing both kanye and jay z do not lack, with talent comes respect, and if your only listening to hip hop to hear about gangsters and guns then your in it for the wrong reson...
