Iron Maiden have struck a new deal with EMI which will give the label more control over the band’s merchandise and sponsorship.
The new agreement, which will also include the band’s touring commitments, extends Iron Maiden’s 28-year relationship with the label.
In that time, Iron Maiden have sold 70 million albums and achieved three number one LP's in the United Kingdom.
"For a band with a global following like Maiden, who rely on fan word of mouth, touring and marketing/sales expertise as they receive little or no radio or TV support, it is key that the 100% support and implementation of our visual marketing campaigns internationally is both effective and enthusiastic,” manager Rod Smallwood told Billboard.
“EMI and their worldwide affiliates have always fulfilled this," he added.
The new deal includes all countries except the United States, where Sanctuary will continue to manage the band’s business.
As previously reported, Iron Maiden will embark on a huge stadium world tour next year, which includes a show at Twickenham Stadium in London on July 5th.
