The sons of an Earl and a Lord are quaintly battling it out to host The Darkness’ homecoming gig.
The sons of an Earl and a Lord are quaintly battling it out to host The Darkness’ homecoming gig.
The two toffs who have recently had their Suffolk estates handed over to them by their fathers are desperate to prove that they’re in touch with the common people.
The ridiculously named Hektor Rous, 26, who runs a 4,000 acre estate named Henham Hall and Hugh Crossley lord of Somerleyton Hall are both said to be in talks with the band's management, reports The Independent. The pair plan to hold massive gigs in their stately homes’ grounds.
Rous, who is more publicly courting the Lowestoff spandex clad rockers says that he wants to host a yearly “Glastonbury-style” event which will be "the biggest party Suffolk has ever seen". He says talks with the band’s management have been "promising" ands plans to bring 100,000 fans to his manor.
Meanwhile the more tightly lipped Crossley is keeping his plans under wraps. A spokesperson for his big house said "We truly wish for The Darkness to come home to Lowestoft and do a homecoming gig - that would be fantastic."
It’s not pistols at dawn yet, but might come down to that if The Darkness don’t make their minds up soon.
