Its been a turbulent week in the life of Tommy Lee after he was attacked by Kid Rock at the MTV VMAs.
However, it has just got even more rocky with the news that the drummer has decided to quit Motley Crue after a disagreement with the rest of the band.
Mick Mars, Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx have filed a £10 million lawsuit against Lee’s manager and business partner Carl Stubner.
They claim that Stubner cost them millions when he persuaded Lee not to take part in a series of new concert dates in order to concentrate on his reality TV show career.
In statement released last night to Blabbermouth a spokesman for Lee said he had "recently informed Sixx and Mars, the shareholders of Motley Crue, Inc., that he was resigning from the band and his resignation was accepted."
In a previous statement by his lawyer Barbara Berkowitz it stated that: “"Mr. Lee was neither consulted regarding this matter nor authorised the lawsuit.
“Mr. Lee has not made any allegations against his current personal manager. Mr. Lee feels fortunate to have been part of the Motley reunion tour, as well as other opportunities outside of Motley Crue over the past several years.
"It is unfortunate that others believe that they all could have made more money had Mr. Lee exclusively participated in the band that he co-founded in 1980."
