Timbaland has revealed he’s “about to throw in the towel” because he’s “too innovative” for the music industry.

The uber-producer claims to grown disillusioned with the music so is preparing for retirement as soon as he finds a suitable protégé to pass his knowledge on to.

He explains, “Music is boring right now. I'm too innovative for the world. I've been doing it so long, I'm about to throw in the towel.

"I'm about to de-crown myself and pass it over to one of the up-and-coming producers under me. They won't be able to be me - there's only one Timbaland - but there's a certain sound that I try to teach."

Pity he couldn’t have retired before staining his copy book by doing a song with Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado.

  • Oh my god no Timbaland!You cant quit man!! U are the best producer around at the moment! Aint nobody can make music like you and IF I EVER decided to go into that industry....u are most defintely the person I would work with!You have got fab taste and you know what works and what doesnt!Dont go!Please!!:(
