Iggy Pop’s headline set on The Other Stage descended into chaos last night, when he invited fans to jump the barriers and join him onstage.
The wrinkly rocker was four songs from the end of his set, when he beckoned the crowd to spill forward onto the stage.
Security failed to control the throngs of people vying to get through and eventually a good 300 people joined Pop onstage.
Proceedings ground to a halt for 10 minutes as security tried to manhandle the revellers and get them back out into the crowd.

- controlled chaoes - iggy was amaaaazing

- Yeah, I saw the whole thing and never heard him sing ”Passenger”. What a peformance though! Best of show I say, really showing the young ones how to do it. I say next year get MC5 and the New York Dolls back for a performance!

- yea..didnt do passenger...or search and destroy...but i was up there!!completly amazing.proper rock and rolllllll man
”COME ON, LETS TAKE OVERRR”

- i saw the gig deteriorate into chaos all instigated by iggy, clearly he loved it and so did i. 1 of the best gigs ive ever seen.
what makes him special is his unpredictability.he is a 1 off.
its a pity other bands arent as original without clearly trying , eg kasabian(love their music) but why do they pretend 2 b oasis.
keep it up iggy and dont go changing!

- He performed in rebel spirit - sticking it in the face at slick production stadium-style shows and the downside such venues deliver, alienating fans from the artist. It was like seeing him at a NYC Ave A gig or a show at CBGBs. The spontaneous invitation to the audience to revolt and take back the stage, resulted in a full-on human invasion and fan-crazed piley-on toward the rock star, Iggy managed to turn a gig attended by thousands into an experience that touched everyone.
