Celebrated French singer-songwriter Manu Chao has unveiled his most bizarre collaboration yet – he’s working with football legend Diego Maradona.
The 45-year-old is celebrating his Latin roots by working with award-winning filmmaker Emir Kusturica on his new documentary about the World Cup winning star, which has involved hooking up with Maradona himself.
He tells the Daily Record, “I'm working with Emir Kusturica, a filmmaker who is doing a movie about Diego Maradona, so I've been collaborating and working with Diego.”
Chao, whose new album ‘La Radiolina’ is due out in September, adds, “In the '98 World Cup, when France were in the final, I was the only person from my neighbourhood who was supporting Brazil. I've never been a nationalist."
