The Strokes have confirmed that they will be taking a break for most of 2007.
The band will be using the time off to pursue their other projects and don’t plan to tour or release new material until 2008 at the earliest.
Writing in a Myspace post, a band spokesperson said: “The band are still enjoying some much-needed ‘time off’. I wouldn’t expect anything to come out this year.
“In the meantime, they are staying busy pursuing some other personal interests and are busy working/writing/rehearsing and all those things bands do in-between albums. But there are no immediate plans to release an album or tour for the time being.”
The posting also revealed that The Strokes website will be down for the next week while they re-jig it.

- Well, good! In fact they should simply tour and not release anymore albums...and BTW when on tour, just play Is This It songs..and Jay-Z covers; nothing more.

- What are the odds to see them on Glastonbury 2008?

- Yeah First Impressions of the Earth seemed a little rushed. Hopefully their next effort will be better.

- I want to see them in Toronto Canada first!

- People in American want the strokes!
