Former NSync, Backstreet Boys Manager On Run From FBI

The man who created and managed the early careers of the Backstreet Boys and *NSync is on the run from the FBI, after scamming at least 1400 people out of hundreds of millions of dollars in a pyramid scheme.

Lou Pearlman’s whereabouts remain unknown, abcnews.com reports. The website reports that Pearlman and his associates swindled people out of $317 million, by selling investors (many of them senior citizens) false securities billed as a "employee investment savings account" through his company Trans Continental Airlines Inc.

Robert Persante, a Florida lawyer who represents eight people who lost their savings in the scam told ABCnews.com "He'd charm people with his showbiz connections...He even gave some people paraphernalia from the boy bands,"

Pearlman made his last public appearance on  February 1 2007, when he attended the Goldene Kamera awards in Berlin to watch his newest band US5 receive a Pop International Band award.

Since his appearance, a  Florida judge has appointed a receiver over Trans Continental's few remaining assets.

  • I’m over-joyed. This means there is an A.P.B. out on him, and it’s about time. The ONLY thing that will bring more happiness is when Lou is caught, found guilty, and finally placed beneath the jail. I will be waiting outside the courtroom. I want Lou to take one good, long, last look at my face, and look directly into my eyes as he is finally carried off to jail in cuffs. THAT will be my ”restitution” for nearly killing me and almost destroying my career.

  • dude, the guilty are escorted out the back of the courtroom, not the front doors. Those are for the innocent. Better get into the court room...
