Nelly Furtado and Billy Talent were both big winners at the Juno awards in Canada.
Canada’s top music awards ceremony awarded Furtado a total of five gongs in a year which has seen her career rejuvenated.
She scooped Best album, best pop album, fans’ choice, artist of the year and the best single of the year awards.
Billy Talent walked away with the best group and best album award for Billy Talent II.
The only surprise of the night was that rapper K-os didn’t win anything despite being nominated five times. He duly changed the lyrics of a song during his performance to “this show is propaganda.”
Canadian producer Bob Rock was inducted into the Juno hall of fame for his lifetime of work, including producing Metallica’s seminal ‘Black Album.’
