Franz Ferdinand have been asked to pen some tunes for the next Harry Potter film.
The Scottish band, who are currently touring the UK, admit they are excited about taking part in the project. Singer Alex Kapranos told MTV: “We've been asked to write some music... There's a section where there's a band of ugly sisters playing.”
He added: “Some members of Franz Ferdinand may be the ugly sisters in the band.”
The filming for 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ is currently taking place.
If the band make a cameo they will not be the first music stars to do so in the wizardry series. Ian Brown made a brief appearance on the last film ‘… the Prisoner of Askaban’.
Kapronos has also hinted that their forthcoming album will have a ‘live’ sound. He said: “We're not going to be drastically different. We're certainly not going to start using a bunch of effects pedals. We like the idea of capturing a band in a room playing live."
