Grizzly Bear have announced they are cancelling the remainder of their European Tour after their tour bus was cleaned out in Brussels last night.
The American folk rockers – promoting their second album ‘Yellow House’ – were already debating whether to continue the tour after guitarist Daniel Rossen’s father was taken ill, but their minds have been made up for them due to the robbery.
The band write on their MySpace site, “Last night, the final straw happened, our van was robbed and much of our gear and personal belongings were stolen while in Brussels.
”It's with a very very very sad face that I have to announce we are cancelling our last 12 shows.
”We were really looking forward to them all so much. We will surely be back sometime in 2007, once we can replace all the stolen instruments and Daniel has had time to be with his father.”
Grizzly Bear were due to play five UK date at the end of this month.
