A Broadway musical featuring the songs of Bob Dylan has received a critical mauling Stateside.
The show, ‘The Times They Are A Changing’, has been choreographed by Twyla Tharp and uses the rock legend’s songs to tell the story of a young man’s relationship at home and with a circus performer.
Critics in America have been quick to pan the musical with The Wall Street Journal lambasting "'The Times They Are A-Changin' is so bad that it makes you forget how good the songs are."
Variety said that the show was ‘plodding’ and that is was ‘chaotic and narratively incoherent.’
And as the Beeb reports, The New York Times also laid the boot in saying the musical was a ‘systematic steamrolling on Bob Dylan songs.’
The show features Dylan tracks such as ‘Mr Tambourine Man’, ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’ and ‘Blowin in the Wind.’
