Hot Chip say they’re putting their money on the Arctic Monkeys to scoop the Mercury Music Prize.
The London band go head to head with the Monkeys and ten other nominees for the prestigious gong on September 5.
But Alexis Taylor from Hot Chip believes that there’s only one winner, saying: “I'm gonna put some money on them. I haven't actually checked our odds yet.”
In the interview with mtv, Taylor went on to recall a time that he had met the Sheffield lads, saying: “We had a nice time with the Arctic Monkeys in Sweden. We played at a festival called Accelerator over there and they were around and it was very nice.
“We were backstage and there was a nice kind of balcony and the sun setting on the water and Alex was there sort of playing his guitar and it was really quite strange.
“I didn't actually say hello to them, they looked a bit pissed off about being there but they seemed nice.”
