Jet have been talking more about their second album which has taken them more than a year to write.
The band have travelled all over the world since starting the follow up to 2003’s ‘Get Born’ including shacking up in Massachusetts farm in the middle of winter and hitting the beaches of Barbados.
However, the real creative process begun after the Aussies returned to Melbourne following the death of Nic and Chris Chester’s father.
This major loss has created a much darker feel says Nic Chester: "The ballads are a lot deeper. It's all resulted in a journey. It was a way to vent a lot of issues, feelings and anger.”
“We ran a whole gamut of emotions over the last few years. You don't bury dad and go out and write the fucking party classic."
The band have recently returned to Los Angeles to put the new material down on record with producer Dave Sardy having whittled down 40 songs to 15.
Tracks set to feature on the sophomore long player include ‘Eleanor’, ‘Shine On’, ‘Holiday’ and ‘Stand Up’.
The album is expected to hit shops before the end of 2006.
