Morrissey has once again derided the talk of him be offered £5m to reform the Smiths and play live once again.
As previously reported on Gigwise the members of The Smiths were reportedly offered the big money payday to appear at this year’s Coachella festival.
Mozza denied the rumours at the time teliing Uncut that he’d rather “eat his own testicles” that reform the band.
In an interview with The Times Morrissey revealed that he doesn’t considered the other three Smiths to be his friends and that they don’t deserve to have the attention he has earned himself.
He said of the proposed comeback: “I’m not placed on the Earth to torment ex-musicians. My life is gratifying at the moment musically, so why become part of the Smiths again? What’s the point?”
“I feel as if I’ve worked very hard since the demise of the Smiths and the others haven’t, so why hand them attention that they haven’t earned? We are not friends, we don’t see each other. Why on earth would we be on a stage together?”
There is a light that has gone out.

Hes absolutely correct, a Smiths reformation would be hideous. It would however prove, if proof were necessary, that Morrissey’s solo work completely outshines the Smiths. Time has also proved that rourke and joyce were, as Morrissey stated in the court case, mere session musicians, now living comfortably on his and Marrs talents.
Wait! Morrissey has testicles? What!?! When did this happen? What became of the old ones? Did they pop off and require stitches & glue, or did those long-secreted orbs of legend, upon their letting loose, flourish like waxy crimson elephant ears in the light of day? Year after year, he slaved & prayed to keep them hidden, whilst Mike, Andy, even Johnny, let theirs hang loosely--effortlessly--without a respectable sacrifice. Yet again, Morrissey returns ball & ball, after all.
- As much as I respect The Smiths as a group and Morrissey as an individual talent -- his comments are ridiculous. Ever hear of the band TheThe? Marr and Rourke have been musicians past their Smiths years.

- Morrissey is 100% correct. The only additional member of The Smiths with talent was Marr. I would love nothing more than a Smith reunion, but I know how Moz feels about Andy and Mike. How about we just get Moz and Marr together for a show? Im sure Boz Borrer would be up for it. You can pick a drummer of the street.

- In a romantic way it would be nice to see The Smiths back together at least once. Any true Smiths fan would have to be at least tempted by the idea.
However, I can’t see it happening any time soon and maybe we’re better off if they don’t.
