Pint sized popstar Prince will be receiving a lifetime achievement award from the Webby’s Online Awards.
The Webby’s want to honour Prince for his innovative use of the internet as a way of distributing his music to fans.
Founder of the wards Tiffany Shlain said of Prince: "Long before MySpace and iTunes, Prince used the web as a new way to distribute music, premiere videos and build his relationship with his fans."
Prince was the first artist to release an album in its entirety exclusively online with his 1997 offering ‘Crystal Ball’.
The Webby’s are currently in their 10th year, winners of all award are limited to just a five word acceptance speech…what on earth will Prince say?
