East 17 lynchpin Tony Mortimer believes that their music live on through The Streets.
Mortimer, whose band have recently announced a one-off comeback show, says Mike Skinner and co. have more in common with East 17 than American acts.
He blathered: "The Streets are definitely the closest thing to us in the charts these days. "I like them a lot.
“Of course, if you ask them they'll probably say they were influenced by American hip-hop or something."
