Simple Minds are set to kick off this year’s World Cup with a huge show in Berlin at the Brandenburg Gate.
The Scottish rockers will play a short set on June 7, two days before the first game, including the songs ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’ and ‘Home’.
“Simple Minds are football mad, so this will be the best gig in the world for them,” said a spokesperson for the band.
They will also play an second gig in Gelsenkirchen on June 8.
Simple Minds have already been confirmed for this year's Summer Pops in Liverpool, tickets are on sale now.
