Daft Punk’s first foray into the world of feature films ‘Daft Punk Electroma’ will get its first airing in the coming days.
The film, directed by Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo, will be shown at the Directors’ Fortnight which is an unofficial sideshow at the Cannes Film Festival which begins this week (May 18).
It is the duo’s directorial debut and is a psychedelic musical and visual odyssey that centres on the story of two robots and their quest to become human.
It is said to have a minimalistic approach to dialogue but more than makes up for it with a stunning soundtrack and impressive visuals.
There is no news as yet on a general release date.
Daft Punk's only UK show this year will be at Global Gathering in July.
