A new survey has found that middle-aged parents are buying twice as many CDs as their teenage children.
The British Phonographic Industry figures show that the industry is radically changing, with younger people buying more and more downloads rather than physical copies.
The change has led many in the industry to label the new trends as ‘mum rock.’
Figures show that in the last five years, sales to under thirties have dropped from 43% to 34%, reports the BBC.
Over forties have seen their share in the market increase from 33.5% to 45%.
It seems the future of acts like Russell Watson, Il Divo, The Carpenters, Barry Manilow and David Essex is set in stone, then.
