Singer-songwriter Sandi Thom has been snapped up for a whopping £1million record deal on the strength her webcasts.
Thom performed shows in the basement of her South London flat every night, which were beamed out to a collective audience of around 200,000 people on the net.
The 24-year-old Scot performed for 21 nights with viewing figure increasing from 70 to a peak of 70,000.
On the strength of these casts she has signed the huge deal with RCA/Sony. The signing was captured through Sandi Thom's official website last night.
RCA Managing Director Craig Logan said: “I’m thrilled that Sandi is the first signing to the RCA Label Group, she is a very talented artist with an already unique story.
“We’re very excited that we’re now going to be a part of that story as she develops into a major artist.”
