The first raft of acts including the headliners have been announced for 2006’s Carling Leeds and Reading weekend at a special event in London - and Gigwise was there to bring you all the news.
Headlining this year’s main stage will be Franz Ferdinand, Muse and Pearl Jam with support from Kaiser Chiefs, Audioslave, Arctic Monkeys, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Belle & Sebastian, The Streets, Feeder, Placebo and My Chemical Romance.
Playing the Radio 1 stage will be The Raconteurs, Maximo Park and Primal Scream with more set to be announced.
So far other acts confirmed for the weekend include The Futureheads, The Cribs, The Subways, Fall Out Boy, The Rakes, Panic! At The Disco and Dirty Pretty Things.
Also performing will Boy Kill Boy, The Kooks and Wolfmother.
This year's festival will also include the biggest comedy tent the event has ever seen.
Tickets for the festival, which takes place over the weekend of August 25-27, went on sale from 7:30 this evening.
Sadly at the moment (8:30pm) Gigwise can report that there are already over three hundred people selling tickets for the festival on Ebay.
