Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos believes that legally downloading songs is a good thing because it will force artists to make better songs.
He claims downloading means artists have to impress more by making albums of great songs, rather than just a few hit singles.
As contact music quotes, he explains: "I like the idea that, because of downloading, people are gonna buy songs only if they are good.
"It means lazy bands aren't going to get away with giving you the one hit single and an album full of fillers."
