The US is gearing up to host its own version of the European Song Contest.
Obviously, rather than being divided up into countries, each State will send a representative into the competition, with the public voting for the winner at the end.
The show which is being developed by NBC hopes to challenge the Fox network’s American Idol which is currently dominating ratings.
Ben Silverman chairman of producers Reveille enthused: "Eurovision is the granddaddy of all talent shows and the Super Bowl of singing.” Er right.
As the BBC reports, a competition will take place in every State to find nominees for the event.
