A number of politicians and bodies attacked by animal rights activists are calling for former Smiths front man Morrissey over his comments supporting attacks by animal rights campaigners.
As reported by Gigwise on January 5 Mozza seemingly gave his support to the attacks in an interview with fans on the true-to-you.net website.
He said: “I support the efforts of the Animal Rights Militia in England and I understand why fur-farmers and so-called laboratory scientists are repaid with violence - it is because they deal in violence themselves and it's the only language they understand - the same principals that apply to war.”
Conservative MP and Shadow Home Affairs spokesman David Davis has attacked the comments and told the Sunday Times: “Any incitement to violence is obviously wrong in a civilised society and should be investigated by the police."
A spokesmen for Huntingdon Life Sciences, which has been attacked many times by groups associated with Animal Rights, added: "People can have whatever opinions they want, but to condone and encourage acts of violence is entirely wrong and should not be allowed in a democracy."
Morrissey is yet to respond about the critcism towards his comments.
