Massive Attack Unveil Fifth Album Details, Announce UK Tour 'Heligoland' is released in February...

Massive Attack have unveiled full details of their fifth studio album.
Titled 'Heligoland' the long-player is released on February 8 and features guest vocalists Damon Albarn, Hope Sandoval, Martina Topley-Bird, Guy Garvey, Tunde Adebimpe and long-time cohort Horace Andy.
As well as the guest vocalists, Portishead's Adrian Utley plays guitar on 'Saturday Come Slow' while Damn Albarn plays bass on 'Flat Of The Blade' and 'Splitting The Atom'.
The group have also unveiled the artwork to their first album in seven years which you can see in high res. below.

Jay-Z To Perform At The Brit Awards Alongside a special guest star, it's reported...

Jay-Z will perform at next February's Brit Awards, it's been reported.
The Jigga Man will be joined by a mystery guest for the performance which will see him do a medley of hits.
A Brits source told The Sun: "Jay-Z is confirmed as one of the key performers. In weak years there have been problems securing the big international artists.

Lady Gaga Makes $167 From 1million Plays On Spotify A Swedish report suggests...

Lady Gaga made just $167 (£100) from over 1million plays on Spotify, it is claimed.
Swedish newspaper Expressen has published a report which claims the singer - real name Stefani Germanotta - has earned a relatively paltry amount from the peer-to-peer music streaming service.
The 1million figure quoted by the paper represents the amount of listens Gaga's biggest hit 'Pokerface' has amassed over a five month period in Spotify's start-up country Sweden.
A Swedish recording artist told econsultancy.com: "It is totally sick. We musicians have no rights, you may not charge [for music] any more."

The Rolling Stones Reissue 'Wild Horses' In Wake Of Susan Boyle Cover You can buy it now...

The Rolling Stones have reissued their 1971 song 'Wild Horses' in the wake of Susan Boyle covering it on The X Factor last night.
The remastered song is be available as a bundle via iTunes from today which also features a live studio version of the track and a live rendition at Knebworth.
Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, Wild Horses was recorded in Muscle Shoals, Alabama over three days in December 1969 and was the last of 3 songs completed at those sessions, after Brown Sugar and You Gotta Move.
As well as Boyle's version - which appears on her debut album 'I Dreamed A Dream' - acts including Neil Young, Guns N' Roses, Sheryl Crow and Mazzy Star have all covered the track.

Local Natives Unveil 2010 UK Tour Dates They play next February and March...

Local Natives have announced their first ever headline tour of the UK.
The Silver Lake, Los Angeles natives will play eight shows in February and March 2010 in support of their recently released debut album 'Gorilla Manor'.

Green Day Beat Kings Of Leon To Prize At American Music Awards In Los Angeles yesterday evening...

Green Day scooped the 'favourite rock artist' prize at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles last night.
The trio, who recently completed their UK tour, beat Kings of Leon and Shinedown to take the honour.
Billie Joe Amrstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool also performed live at the ceremony - a pyrotechnics strewn rendition of recent single '21 Guns'.
The big winners on the night, however, were Michael Jackson who took home four posthumous honours and Taylor Swift who won five including artist of the year.

Lady Gaga Performs On Blazing Piano At American Music Awards - Photos The singer steals the show...

Lady Gaga stole the show at the American Music Awards last night performing on a blazing piano.
Wearing a futuristic naked body suit Gaga launched into a typically theatrical performance of new single 'Bad Romance' which saw the crowd give her a standing ovation.
As well as her instrument being on fire, Gaga shattered glass, stabbed violins and then proper rock n' roll style smashed the violins to pieces on her piano.

Michael Jackson Wins Four Posthumous American Music Awards In Los Angeles last night...

Michael Jackson scooped four posthumous honours at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles last night (November 22).
The four gongs handed out to Michael's older brother Jermaine at the Nokia Theater ceremony take the King of Pop's tally to 23 making him the most decorated artist in the awards' history.
Jackson was crowned best pop/rock male artist, best soul/R&B male artist plus he scooped two best album honours for Number Ones.
Jermaine said: "He saw good in everyone and he wanted everyone to do good. He always started with love."

Coronation Street Bosses Want Noel Gallagher To Guest On Show A top producer has confirmed...

Coronation Street chiefs want Noel Gallagher to guest on the show next year.
2010 marks the 50th anniversary of the Manchester soap and bosses at ITV have confirmed they're looking for big names for the show.
Producer Kim Crowther told the Daily Star: "We are planning lots for the 50th anniversary; it will be must-see television. It would be fab to see Tracy Barlow back, wouldn’t it?
“I would love to bring Hilda back – and Mavis. Noel Gallagher would be great. There are also plans for some new faces in the factory.”
Last month, Gallagher said: “I’m not doing a solo album as I’m taking time off.
