Beatles Songs Pulled From US Download Website An LA judge issues injunction...
By Jason Gregory on 6 November 2009
The Beatles back-catalogue has been pulled from a US website which was selling the collection at a discounted price.
An LA judge granted the band's record label, EMI, an injunction against Bluebeat.com during a court hearing on Wednesday.
The order was issued after EMI began legal action against the website, claiming the company did not have permission to sell the songs.
Bluebeat's owner, Hank Risan, argued that his website did not need a licence because it was selling re-recorded versions of the band's songs, which had been created using "psycho-acoustic simulation" software.

The Fiery Furnaces Issue Statement: 'We're Not Fans Of Radiohead' And they didn't misread 'Harry Patch' title...
By Scott Colothan on 6 November 2009
The Fiery Furnaces have issued a sarcastic statement in response to the furore created when Matthew Friedberger berated Radiohead's song 'Harry Patch (In Memory Of).'
In an interview with Spinner.com published earlier this week, Friedberger seemingly slammed Radiohead's intentions for recording a song about the last surviving British solder of the trenches, Harry Patch, calling the group 'bogus'.
Under the headline 'We LOVE Radiohead, of course!', yesterday a band rep insisted the band are NOT fans of Radiohead and Matthew DIDN'T misread the song title as 'Harry Partch' as previously thought.
Instead, it's claimed that “ Matt naturally thought it would be interesting to pretend that they wrote a song about the celebrated American composer with a similar sounding name.”
